Elevate Teacher Resident
About The Position
Elevate Teaching is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join the Elevate Teacher Residency. This innovative, one-year program is designed for aspiring educators seeking to pursue a California teaching credential while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic learning environment. Residents will work alongside an experienced mentor teacher, engage in professional learning with a cohort of peers, and contribute to creating an inclusive and engaging classroom culture committed to student success.
Responsibilities:
- Co-teach 4-5 days a week alongside a lead teacher, including planning and implementing engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Work with individual, small groups and whole groups of students to provide differentiated support and create a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to assess student progress and implement interventions as needed.
- Participate in professional development to build strong instructional skills and knowledge.
- Engage with families and the community to foster strong relationships that support student success.
Residency Host Site Locations:
- Caliber Public Schools (Richmond and Vallejo)
- Education for Change Public Schools (Oakland)
- Envision Education (Oakland, Hayward and San Francisco)
- Invictus Academy (Richmond)
Benefits:
- Salary: $25/hour (Approx. $40,000/year)
- Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and retirement
- Potential access to up to $26,000 in state and federal grants
- Up to $55,000 in federal financial aid
Credentials Offered:
- Multiple Subject K-8
- Single Subject: Mathematics, Science, Social Science, ELA, Spanish
- Education Specialist (Mild/Moderate)
LMU Tuition for Teaching Credential
- $17,500 for General Education
- $23,000 for Special Education (Tuition rates for the 2025-26 academic year set by March 2025)

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree by May 2025
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (lower GPA considered with exemption letter)
- Basic Skills Requirement met via CBEST, SAT/ACT scores, or relevant coursework
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- TB clearance and fingerprint clearance
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption

- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a classroom setting or educational program.
